Over Labor Day Weekend, we did an iHeartCountry Throwback Weekend, where 103.5 WEZL played throwback country songs. For the promotion, I created a marketing & social media campaign that would drive people to listen to the iHeartRadio app over that weekend using an old WEZL logo as the inspiration.

We found an old bumper sticker with a logo that was originally used prior to 1993. This bumper sticker was the main logo inspiration for this promotion. I digitally redrew each letter from the logo in Adobe Illustrator. This vectorized logo can now be used for billboards, t-shirts, posters and more!

Using the original letters of “FM 103.5 RADIO” as a reference, I drew the remaining letters we needed to form the words “Throwback Weekend”

The final WEZL Throwback Weekend logo consists of the old call letters logo, our iHeartCountry logo and the new letters that I drew.

The goal for the social media video was to evoke nostalgia for old school radio and more specifically old school WEZL. We successfully did this by using visuals of radio dials and the old school WEZL logo combined with jingles we recorded off an old reel to reel tape.
